MediaTek has launched the Dimensity Auto platform, a next-generation automotive platform designed to provide automakers with a wide range of cutting-edge technologies needed for the future of intelligent, always-connected vehicles. The platform includes four parts: Dimensity Auto Cockpit, Dimensity Auto Connect, Dimensity Auto Drive, and Dimensity Auto Components.
The Dimensity Auto Cockpit offers MediaTek’s advanced MiraVision smart display technology, which supports multiple displays and up to 8K 120Hz screens in HDR. This feature paves the way for high-quality, large-screen, multi-display options in electric vehicles. The platform also supports advanced integrated display technology, ideal for flexible OLED screens, and offers a full suite of entertainment streaming and decoding capabilities.
Another aspect of the platform is the Dimensity Auto Connect, which uses a combination of high-speed telematics and top-performance Wi-Fi networking to help drivers stay consistently connected with the world around them. This connectivity feature includes 5G NTN technology, 5G RedCap for better performance than 4G, Wi-Fi 7, and comprehensive GNSS coverage for more accurate positioning.
Additionally, the platform includes Dimensity Auto Drive, which enables ADAS solutions and provides a scalable and comprehensive open platform to provide partners with intelligent assist and autonomous driving solutions. Meanwhile, the Dimensity Auto Components provides reliable automotive-grade chipsets and stand-alone components for new generations of connected, intelligent vehicles, including advanced integrated display technology for flexible OLED screens and large-screen multi-display options.
