Dell has added USB Type-C connectors and Windows 10 to its Venue 8 Pro and Venue 10 Pro as well as changing the CPU to a Intel Atom Z8500 Quad Core processor. Wi-fi is boosted to 802.11ac. Dell was recently announced as a partner for Microsoft’s Surface convertible tablet, which Dell will start to ship in October (http://tinyurl.com/qe6mcdc) The new Venue products will ship on November.
Toshiba has updated its Chromebook 2 to make available new 5th Gen (Broadwell) Core i3 or Celeron processors as well as adding an LED-backlit keyboard. The display is still a 13.3″ IPS unit (Toshiba Refreshes Chromebooks With Higher Resolution) but is now just in FullHD. Pricing in the US will be $330 (Celeron) or $430 (Core i3) when the products launch next month.
