What They Say
Digitimes highlighted the development of the miniLED market and detailed the ranges of sets from Samsung, LG, TCL and Hisense. It quoted an earlier forecast from Omdia that put the number to be sold in 2021 at around 4.9 million units, but that turned out to be only 2.1 million in reality because of the high panel prices last year. 1.2 million were sold by Samsung, 600K by LG and 200K by Hisense. It expects the market to get to over 4 million in 2022.
What We Think
Well, with all the gossip about QD-OLED and OLED from Samsung, the firm will be pushing miniLED extra hard this year. (BR)
