A patent filed by Magic Leap, dating back to November 2017, details a new AR glasses product that can monitor vital signs including body temperature, heart rate, respiration, sweating and glucose levels, with built-in systems to alert the user to an anomaly.
The documentation describes a “light analyser configured to determine a polarisation angle rotation of the reflected light from the eye of the user”.
Back in March 2018, Magic Leap announced the results of its latest funding round, which brought its running investment total to $2.3 billion. Magic Leap One, the company’s long-awaited AR headset, has been in development for several years and has been kept largely under wraps during that time. The device is scheduled for release this year.
