Lucyd said that it has developed new Lyte Bluetooth E-Glasses that are operated by voice, accessing services such as Siri or Google Assistant on companion devices. Custom lenses can be supplied and they weigh 1.25 to 1.5 oz (35 – 42gms) and battery life of around 6.5 hours.
What We Think
These glasses do not have displays in them. However, I included this story as it is an indicator of where smart glasses may go for the next couple of years, as, effectively, portable smart speakers. It’s still tricky to make good light AR glasses and there is still concern over the use of cameras, but this kind of eyewear can be light and unobtrusive, while still delivering useful information and content.
