License to Kill Apparently Extends to Sponsorship Deals

According to leaked emails, James Bond: Spectre actor Daniel Craig will use a Sony Xperia Z4 in the upcoming film – but isn’t happy about it. Both Craig and director Sam Mendes would prefer to use ‘the best phone on the market’. The email, which was leaked some time ago, reads, ‘Beyond the $$ factor, there is, as you may know, a creative factor whereby Sam and Daniel don’t like the Sony phone for the film (the thinking, subjectively/objectively is that James Bond only uses the ‘best’, and in their minds, the Sony phone is not the ‘best’)’. Sony was said to be offering $28 million in sponsorship, while Samsung was offering $50 million – so Bond may use a Galaxy in Spectre.
