Liberty Global is to use new cloud-based technology from Metrological to introduce its support for Netflix.
Metrological defined a hybrid architecture, using an application framework that acts as a device and a software-agnostic abstraction layer that can streamline the engineering and coding requirements for STB, reducing the power needed in the STB and allowing rollout of new services on older CPE hardware.
