LG has announced a new mainstream mobile phone that will be shown at MWC. The LG X Power2 is aimed at those that want big battery capacity combined with a large screen (a 5.5″ 720 x 1280 IPS LCD with in-cell touch). The battery capacity is 4,500 mAh and the handset is expected to last a weekend without recharging. It can playback videos for 15 hours, navigate for 14 hours or surf the web for 18 hours.
LG claims that the new display has been improved to make it better for viewing outdoor. The cameras are 13MP (rear) and 5MP wide angle (front) and the rear camera has ‘Zero Shutter Lag’ and there is a ‘soft’ LED light for photography. The chipset is an octacore MT6750 which means a Cortex-A53 with the GPU being a Mali-T860MP2. Memory is 1.5GB or 2GB and storage is 16GB (+microSD up to 2TB). The operating system is Android 7.0 (Nougat) and size is 154.7 x 78.1 x 8.4mm.
Shipments will start in Latin America in March, followed by other regions. Pricing is to be decided.
