What They Say
A couple of months ago, LG added RFID readers to its -All-in-One Thin Client workstation (24CN670N) workstation that is aimed at healthcare applications. The technology has been designed to be compatible with Imprivata digital identity solutions, a leading platform (LG said) supporting secure access management and digital workflows in the healthcare market. The thin client includes a TPM 2.0 Trust Platform Module for added security.
The thin client includes an Intel Celeron J4105 quad-core processor and no operating system, for organizations that prefer a different virtualized solution, such as the IGEL OS. (LG is an IGEL Ready technology partner.)
The new LG thin client can support up to two additional displays via DisplayPort and HDMI connections for healthcare applications, such as imaging, that might require multiple screens.
What We Think
I missed this announcement at the time, but thought it worth catching up with. Having the ability to login very quickly and securely is likely to be very useful at times in medical applications where access to data and records could be a matter of life and death. Thin clients are also a good architecture in this environment. (BR)
