LG Display and Mercedes-Benz began their joint ventures in the automotive sector in 2004. During their latest meeting, LG Display took the opportunity to demonstrate its latest offerings in next-gen automotive displays and top-tier LCDs. This range showcased their 34-inch ultra-large P-OLED, 18-inch slidable automotive OLED displays, transparent OLED, 12.3-inch glasses-free 3D cluster, and SPM (switchable privacy mode).

LG has been making strides in the automotive display sector with its tandem OLED technology. LG plans to provide more than 50% of the displays for premium automotive by 2026. It already provides about 25%. At this promotional event with Mercedes-Benz, LG announced its plans to commence mass production of its second-generation tandem OLED. This new generation of panels is expected to have 30% improvement in brightness, and a 40% reduction in power consumption.
