What They Say
I registered interest in the LG 31.5″ OLED monitor with BH Photo in the US and it has been sending me regular updates confirming that it was not yet available – the last one just a few days ago. However, it has now published a review that highlights the great performance but limited applications that are suitable. It does love the deep blacks and wide viewing angles and finds it ‘immersive’. It does not have variable refresh rate, so is not suitable for gaming, but is for colour grading and photo editing. It likes the HDR 10 support. Peak brightness is 250 cd/m² in SDR and 540 cd/m² in HDR and is ‘absolutely beautiful’.
The monitor is calibrated as supplied but can also be calibrated later with internal storage of the calibration settings, so after calibration it can be used on an alternative system.
It’s listed for $3,999.
What We Think
This monitor is the first from LG to use an inkjet printed OLED from JOLED. Vincent Teoh also reviewed it a few weeks ago and we summarised his review here (BR)
