What They Say
LG Display will not be at CES next month (even if it goes ahead) but has shown some concepts for entertainment devices using curved OLEDs, one of which uses three 55″ displays, with one curved at 500mm.
What We Think
I have heard that some executives at LG Display get quite grumpy at how much the annual exhibit at CES costs and they will be pleased to have been allowed to not run it this year. Personally, I always enjoyed it, although staff were primed to explain to people the firm’s technology to those that haven’t spent decades studying it, which can be a bit frustrating!
It’s not surprising to see applications exploiting the (relatively) easy process of creating curved displays (at least compared to LCD). (BR)
