LG DIsplay Slim Art TV concept – LG put a mirror conveniently for our picture!Moving onto TV LCDs, we looked at the latest iteration of the slim design LCD panels that LG is promoting under the name “Art Slim”. The panels are designed to have a 3 sided “borderless” design and a front decorative panel. On the back, there is a small decorative cover on the bottom half of the back so that the TV maker can hide away its electronics, but it makes the set very slim and easy to assemble for set makers. At the moment, the Art Slim designs are in high end sets (65″/55″/49″), but the concept will move down to “step up” categories (55″/49″/43″) in the spring and into the mainstream (65″/55″/49″/43″) by the end of the year. By 2016, the concept will be available to all set segments.
