What They Say
Lenovo showed new AR smartglasses at the Virtual CES, the ThinkReality A4 which are designed to connect to a smartphone or PC using USB Type-C. The glasses have two 1080p displays and can be used as ‘virtual monitors’ and the optics are ‘bird bath’, rather than using waveguides. There is integrated room-scale tracking through dual cameras and video can be recorded at 1080P. The processor is a Qualcomm XR1.
There are industrial and ‘PC’ versions, the first being more rugged in its frame.
What We Think
Lenovo has been working in this area for a long time – I usually enjoy meeting its specialists at real CES events. As we reported, for more demanding applications, Lenovo is a reseller of the Varjo headset. (BR)
