Lenovo Rejects Windows Phone Option

At the Canalys Channels Forum event in Barcelona, Gianfranco Lanci of Lenovo has ruled out the possibility that Lenovo would ever make a Windows OS smartphone. Lanci, who is great to listen to as he seems to ‘say it as he sees it’, also said that he was not even sure that Microsoft is still committed to the platform. He also said that Q1 of this year was a very tough period for the PC market and the worst since 2008. In the light of comments from Dell and HP at the event, Lanci confirmed that Lenovo is totally committed to the channel. He also said that the company would extend its smartphone sales to more countries in EMEA next year.
