Lenovo had lots to show us and we had a whistlestop tour of the booth. The Mgo 300 is an entry level 8″ Windows tablet running Windows 8.1 and using an Intel BayTrail processor. It sells for $149 and is said to have a 7 hour battery life.
There were a couple of nice tablets, the Tab2 A10-70 and A8-50 which are 10″ and 8″ respectively. We were told that the 10″ version had a FullHD display, but we found it was actually a 16:10 1920 x 1200 IPS panel. The tablet has Lollipop and supports LTE and Wi-Fi. Audio features the Dolby Atmos system.
The Yoga 2 has been around a while as a Windows system, but was being demonstrated running Android.
Lenovo uses the Motorola brand in Europe (Lenovo in the developing world). Highlighted was the Vibe Shot which has a 16 megapixel camera that uses a 6 element lens. The Moto E was also being highlighted.
We were surprised to see a new “pocket” projector. The unit uses a DLP imager with 854 x 480 resolution and the output is 50 lumens and battery life is 2.5 hours. The tiny device has dual 0.5W speakers for audio and it connects to smart devices using Miracast (Apple iOS, Android or Windows 8.1) wireless technology and also DLNA. A microSD card can be used for up to 32GB of content storage. The projector is small at 100mm x 104mm x 25mm and it weighs 170gms. An unusual feature is that the side of the projector with the lens can be tilted independently of the other side to point the image in a different direction. Lenovo has said that the shipping product will have automatic keystone correction. It will start to ship in May for $249.
The A7000 is a new 5.5″ mid-range phone that has a 1280 x 720 resolution and a 64 bit processor.
