What They Say
Canalys has been in the news this week! The company put out its Q3 PC sales data and reported that the volume of notebooks (64 million) was close to the record Q4 2011 quarter, when the market hit 64.6 million. Notebooks were up 28%. The top vendors are shown in the chart. Dell was the only brand that was down, but Acer and Apple were up at 15% and 13.2%. Desktops & Workstations were down 26% on a year ago.
What We Think
There will be several reports on the PC market this week, but it should be good news for the IT display market, which is proving to be a positive segment this year although tablets remain under some pressure. (BR)
