Epson in the USA is now shipping the BrightLink Pro 1470Ui, and BrightLink 710Ui claimed to be the world’s first laser interactive display solutions and the PowerLite 700U ultra short-throw 3LCD laser display. The products have previously been shown at Infocomm and Technology Exposed.
Samsung showed its Quantum Dot LCD (which it calls QLED) LFDs at ISE and Infocomm this year, and the performance is impressive. Now the products in the QHH range have been made available in Germany. The sets support HDR10 for HDR content support and have a colour space that is close to DCI-P3 and resolutions are UltraHD. Peak brightness of the 55″ and 65″ units is up to 1,500 cd/m².
The sets are intended for commercial applications and have the Samsung Smart Signage Platform (SSSP 5.0) and Tizen 3.0 operating system. The displays can operate in landscape or portrait mode and are rated for 16/7 operation.
Sharp has now started to ship the PN-V701 video wall display, a bigger unit than the more standardised 55″ class of product, and shown for some time, especially at ISE this year. Sharp highlights the reduction in the number of bezels in larger arrays and has also been keen to show the potential of the displays in a triple portrait configuration. The monitor is the first to ship with the Mini-OPS slot that Sharp has been developing with Intel. The slot can be used to enable an HDBaseT connection.
ViewSonic has done a deal with 42Gears Mobility Systems to install the Nix agent on ViewSonic media players. The companies have previously collaborated with SureMDM from 42Gears, which runs on Android-based smart displays.
42Gears Nix Agent will now be factory installed on the ViewSonic media players NMP620-P10 and NMP620-P10X, which will provide customized control over the display and content. Further, it will also enable remote troubleshooting and installation capabilities, resetting devices, and pushing new content to them. Post deployment, these ViewSonic media players are expected to be available in the market from December 2017.
Additionally, ViewSonic also plans to integrate Nix Agent into its popular Android-based CDM large format displays by early 2018. The CDM series of media displays in which the Nix Agent will be deployed includes CDM4300R, CDM4300T, CDM4900R, CDM5500R and CDM5500T.
