The 6000 series of TVs that Philips will launch this year (Ambilux Coming to Philips This Year) will use the Google Cast protocol. 43″, 49″, 55″ and 65″ sizes will be available. Unusually, the company has chosen to vary panel types across the range. The 43″ and 65″ sets will use VA panels; the 49″ and 55″ units will use IPS. The sets will cost $650 (43″), $800 (49″), $1,000 (55″) and $1,500 (65″).

Sharp‘s first UltraHD TVs, now being produced by Hisense (Hisense Begins Sharp Licensing), are available in the USA. The N7000 series comes in 43″, 50″, 55″, 60″ and 65″ sizes. Prices are $500, $700, $800, $1,200 and $1,500, respectively.
