The first monitors with AMD’s Freesync technology will be launched next month, sources have told Fudzilla. In September, we heard that Freesync partners were aiming to ship the monitors in Q1’15 (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 37); getting them to market in time for Christmas would be significant.
In a teardown of Apple’s new 27″ iMac (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 41), iFixit has found that Parade Technologies has joined the company’s supply chain. A DP665 LCD timing controller is used in the unit, driving the 5k display (from LG). It is one of the few components that has changed from the 2013 model, according to iFixit.
