Samsung has now started shipping its premium TVs in Europe (Samsung Fills in More Details on 2018 QLED TVs). The QF7 is only available in a flat version (although the curved one is being offered in the US). The Q8 range in Europe will use edge-lighting, while the US versions uses an FALD backlight, although it is less sophisticated than the version in the flagship Q9FN. The Q9FN and Q7FN ranges are out now with the Q8 rage rolling out over the next few weeks (we spotted a couple of versions online already in the UK).

Analyst Comment

The use of different backlighting for a TV model with with same model designation is bound to cause some confusion – these days, the world is dominated by global communication channels and video reviews. How many of the US reviewers will know that there is a different model in Europe? (BR)
