Asus Provides for EU Price Fixing Fine

asus

On its quarterly financial report, Asus has said that it has put aside €65 million ($77 million) to cover a settlement with European competition authorities after it was accused of fixing the prices that retailers could charge. The case was opened in February 2017 and was also taken out against Denon and Marantz, Philips and Pioneer as well as five game companies.

Analyst Comment

Although we have plenty of experience of digging around the EU official documents, we couldn’t find details of any decision by the European Commission, so we assume that Asus has just decided that it will probably lose this action. (BR)
