What They Say
Quoting Chinese researcher Sigmaintell as a source, Digitimes confirmed the general view in the market that TV panel prices will continue to decline with 32″ to 55″ units slipping $2-4 per panel and 65″ and 75″ dropping by $8-10.
LCD panels for monitors and notebooks are also expected to see prices slip in May.
What We Think
There were no factors that we hadn’t heard elsewhere causing the change – it’s oversupply and weak demand that is the issue. I would have expected some panel makers to start reducing utilisation to stop the drop in pricing. (BR)
