The first Imax laser projectors will reach the UK at the end of the summer, along with a new 12-channel surround sound system. The Empire, in London’s Leicester Square, will be the first theatre with the projectors, which will be used on a 15.6m x 26.5m screen. Pocket-Lint asked Imax VP Greg Foster what technology will be next in cinema, after 3D, HDR and HFR – Foster teased that his company is working on something for next year, but wouldn’t share details.
