Microsoft has announced that the Kodi media player app is now available on Xbox One.
Kodi was previously available for the Xbox One’s predecessor, Xbox 360, under the name Xbox Media Center. Microsoft has stated that certain elements of the app are in an unfinished state and certain limitations are in place temporarily, such as not being able to start up a Blu-ray disc or access files on an external storage device.
Kodi’s popularity lies in its third-party add-on support, though this created trouble for the app when it was linked to a piracy court battle.
