Kobo has a new entry level eReader that has a 6″ E Ink display with 300 ppi. When we spotted the story, we were intrigued by a comment about the colour of the display, but it seems that there is just a variable colour temperature frontlight on the unit, which Kobo calls ComfortLight Pro. (We found a video here on YouTube showing the function on an earlier model)
The device has 8GB and costs $129.99.
The Kobo Aura H20 has a 6.8” Carta E-Ink touchscreen, with 265 ppi and is waterproof. It costs $179 and also includes the ComfortLight Pro function. It is also waterproof for outdoor and poolside use (up to 60 mins in 2 metres of water).
Kobo’s ClaraHD has a variable colour frontlight.
