Jenoptik Opens Dome Theater for Laser Projector Lens Testing

Jenoptik Optical Systems, Jupiter (Fl.), is pleased to announce the completion of the new Jenoptik Dome Theater. The Jenoptik Dome Theater was designed and constructed in Jupiter for testing and demonstrating laser projection lenses for digital cinema and theme park applications.

The screen of the Jenoptik Dome Theater is 24 feet in diameter (12 feet dome radius). The hemispherical screen is elevated five feet above the audience, which is perfect for testing digital planetarium lenses. The screen is coated with a proprietary high performance surface treatment to match our customer’s preferred 3D projection screens. The Jenoptik Theater also has a 30 feet wide by 16 feet high flat screen for testing digital cinema lenses that Jenoptik produces for flat screens.

Jay Kumler, President of JENOPTIK Optical Systems LLC remarked: “Having a dome theater in production facility gives us the ability to show off our lenses to our customers and visitors. It also gives our engineers the test facility they need to make the laser projection experience even better.” Jenoptik will be inviting guests to Jupiter for laser projection lens demonstrations starting in August.

From digital customer desktops to the largest stage and movie theater projector in the world – Jenoptik develops 2D and 3D projection objective lenses for a wide range of systems. They can be used for innovative wide-angle and high-aperture objective lenses for soaring rides, 3D movie theaters, dark rides and simulators. Jenoptik’s products are used in world class attractions in the USA, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Japan and China.

Jenoptik presents product highlights of its Optical Systems and Healthcare & Industry divisions at SPIE Optics + Photonics 2016 from August 30th to September 1st in San Diego, hall of San Diego Convention Center, booth 123.
