Japan Display Inc. announced Q1 net losses of ¥1.8 billion ($16.0 million), an improvement on losses of ¥31.5 billion ($283.6 million) a year earlier, on turnover of ¥103.3 billion ($931.2 million), down from ¥188.6 billion ($1.7 billion). The company said that the decline was due to the mobile device sector, with sales of displays for smartphones and tablets down due to longer replacement times. It also commented that the small and medium display industry was being affected by OLED adoption.
