Japan Display aims to hold a market share between 30% and 40% in high-end smartphone panels by 2020. The news comes from JDI COO Shuji Aruga, quoted by Taiwanese media. JDI also intends to increase its non-smartphone business to over $4 billion by 2019. Reflective displays are expected to account for 20% of the business, and OLED and automotive displays 40% each.
JDI had some very impressive technology at SID, but will face some tough competition in this aim. (BR)
