JDI has anounced a new 10.2″ ‘PixelEyes’ IPS LCD module with peripheral touch controls for automotive use. The display has a single controller that controls the in-cell touch (PixelEyes) and also the control areas around the side of the display with the aim of making integration for radio, airconditioning controls etc. easier. The module has 1920 x 1080 resolution and 1,000 cd/m² of output and 1,400:1 contrast. The size of the full module is 282.8mm(W) x 189.3mm(H) x 19.2mm(D) and the unit has a single cover glass, with an anti-glare coating,

The PixelEyes technology has been used in smartphones up to now, but JDI plans to introduce it to automotive and other applications.
