Japan Display said it would show off the ‘world’s first’ 8k 17.3″ display at Ceatec 2015 (7th – 10th October), in Tokyo.
The company says that the display, which has about 510 ppi, uses LTPS technology and an IPS panel, with an RGB stripe subpixel arrangement. Total resolution is 7680 x 4320.
Initially aimed at medical applications, photo and video professionals and (potentially) PC gaming, the display has a 120Hz refresh rate and 176° viewing angles.
