Niantic, the firm behind the Pokémon Go phenomenon, and a spin-out from Google in 2010, has launched a new development kit for AR. Although executives of the firm have spoken negatively about the Meta concept of the Metaverse, the Verge thinks it is heading towards something similar with its “lightship augmented reality development kit.”
