Intel is reported to be planning to launch an augmented reality smart glass product by the end of the year. Tentatively named Superlite, the device is apparently being manufactured by Quanta Computer.
The device, called Vaunt, weighs just 50 grams and produces a 400 x 150 monochrome image. The design is said to be very like a pair of regular glasses. They will reportedly connect via Bluetooth and use laser technology to project contextual information into the wearer’s vision. According to sources close to the company, Intel is planning to sell a majority share of its AR business and valued at $350 million.
