Intel and Altera are reported to have restarted negotiations about a possible buyout, having abandoned talks in April Intel, Altera Call Off Takeover Talks. The two companies were reported to be in the early stage of talks in March in what was reputed to be one of Intel’s biggest ever deals Intel, (Samsung Rumoured to Be on Acquisition Trail).
Talks fell through because it was reported that the companies could not agree on a price. Sources with ‘direct knowledge’ of the resumed negotiations have said that whatever the outcome, an announcement would be made within a few weeks.
