Innolux has detailed another three technologies that it is showcasing at Touch Taiwan 2018 in Taipei this week.

A 65” 8K miniLED display features upwards of a 94% BT2020 wide colour gamut ratio, 125% NTSC colour gamut coverage, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, low colour shift and a wide viewing angle, plus a blue light filter.

Meanwhile, a 10.1” curved miniLED automotive display features local dimming (6720 zones), 95% NTSC colour gamut coverage. In addition, a PID-LED display features a 1.2mm pixel pitch, 113% NTSC colour gamut coverage and a high contrast ratio.

The PID-LED announced in June is expected to be mass produced in the fourth quarter of 2018. The 65″ TV will be available in the second quarter of 2019, while automotive products are estimated to become available in 2020, once the lengthy certification process is complete.

I think this is the first time that Innolux has offered small pitch LED technology for Public Display applications. It shows the threat that LCD companies feel under in this market. The number of miniLED zones in the backlight is also impressive. (BR)
