What They Say
Advanced Television reported that IMax has had a strong year in Asia despite the pandemic and said that it has installed 71 cinema systems and signed agreements for 65 extra systems for the full year. The company is said to have a 527 system backlog and has done particularly well in Japan and China. The firm is looking for a strong second half of 2021. However, the company’s Q4 result saw $56 million in revenue, but an overall loss of $21.2 million.
What We Think
The firm lost money in each of the last four quarters but a backlog of orders looks good for the opening up of entertainment. There must be a big desire to get out and enjoy events again. (BR)
