IDC Chooses Three ‘AR Innovators’

What They Say

ICD said that it has a special report that highlights “vendors with revenue <$100 million that have demonstrated either a groundbreaking business model or an innovative new technology — or both”. The report covers:

  • RealWear – the spin-out from Kopin that is making safety-focussed headsets
  • ThirdEye – that we last met with several years ago at AWE that has a range of target markets including medical. It recently announced a fund to encourage software developers.
  • Vuzix – We’ve reported a lot on this firm!

IDC describes them as “three less widely known but critical players in the space.”

What We Think

ThirdEye has updated its headsets since we last met with them. The glasses look quite bulky, but the design looks as though it spreads the 300gms weight around the sides of the head. (BR)
