I-Zone Accepting Applications to Virtual Display Week 2020 through June 30, 2020.

As you may know, due to COVID-19 and its unprecedented and unanticipated effect on all of our lives, Display Week 2020, August 3-7, has been reformatted as a virtual event. Although the new format presents challenges, it also offers opportunities. We are therefore delighted to extend I-Zone applications through June 30, 2020.

I-Zone provides a special exhibit area for technology prototypes, proofs of concept, and new products that have been on the market no more than six months prior to Display Week. Selected I-Zone participants will exhibit for the five days of the Display Week 2020 virtual event free of charge. I-Zone provides space for not-yet-commercialized prototypes and proofs of concept at the premier display exhibition in North America. If you represent a small company, startup, university, government lab, or independent research labs and have cutting-edge display-related technology to demonstrate, the I-Zone committee wants to see your proposal.

For a look at a recent outstanding I-Zone technology, watch this interview with representatives of Holst Centre, the winners of last year’s Best Prototype Award for their highly transparent, thin-film biometric scanner integrated on top of a flat-panel display

Proposals for demonstrating new displays, input technologies, and innovations in related fields such as lighting and organic electronics will all be considered by the committee. Technologies should be in the pre-product stage or at least have been on the market no earlier six months prior to June 2020. Demos that will be shown for the first time in a public forum at I-Zone are especially encouraged. Selections will be based on the novelty, interest, and quality of the prototype to be exhibited as described in the proposal. A knowledgeable person must be willing to answer attendee questions (via a messaging Q&A rather than in real time) while the I-Zone is open to attendees August 3-7.

This new virtual format will provide exhibitors with many financial benefits over the physical show, such as the elimination of travel expenses including lodging and airfare. More importantly, as the content of Display Week 2020 is scheduled to remain online for multiple months after the week of August 3, the digital exhibits will be seen and engaged with by attendees of Display Week 2020 for much longer than normally possible.

2020 I-Zone applications are now open through June 30, 2020. Submit your application here.

Before submitting your application, please make sure that:
