What They Say
At MWC 2022, Huawei has launched a new E Ink-based eReader, the MatePad Paper. It has a 10.3″ 1872 x 1404 (227 ppi) touch enabled display. The reader has a USB-C port, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and runs Harmony OS2. The device can be used with the firm’s M-Pencil stylus. It can access two million titles on the Huawei book store and can also load pdf and other standard documents.
The retail price is €499 and the release date has not yet been announced.
What We Think
This looks like an interesting device, it’s much larger than, for example, the Kindle range, but the pricing is quite high and not that far from products such as the Lenovo Commercial Tablet 10 Windows PC. You’d have to really want a reflective display with very long battery life to want to give up colour and video. (BR)
