HTC Trusts in New Phones and VR

HTC expects a rise in its Q2 smartphone sales, following the launch of the HTC 10 (HTC Claims “Best Smartphone Camera”). CFO Chang Chia-lin said that the company has seen a sequential improvement, adding, “hopefully the smartphone business breaks even next quarter.” Pre-order sales of the HTC 10 have already reached “tens of thousands” of units in the USA, Chang said. Commenting on the HTC Vive VR headset, Chang said that HTC believes that the product could contribute as much as 10% of this year’s overall revenue.
