The Chromebook 11 G5 is HP’s first Chromebook in the 11″ size range to include a touchscreen – even if it is optional. The unit is part of HP’s entry-level Chromebook lineup, and will support the addition of Android apps to the Chrome OS, which Google announced in May.
Computing power is firmly on the low end, with a 1.6GHz Intel Celeron N3060 processor. However, this does mean that HP has made the device very efficient – up to 12.5 hours of battery life are promised. 2GB/4GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of flash memory are installed.
The 11.6″ display has 1366 x 768 resolution in both touch (IPS) and non-touch (unspecified panel) variants. The unit overall is 184mm thick and weighs 1.1kg (non-touch) or 1.9kg (touch). HDMI and USB 3.1 (x2) ports are featured.
HP will begin to sell the Chromebook 11 G5 through its resellers in July, for $190.
