We don’t usually bother to mention routine monitor reviews, but we were interested to see a review on the Toms Hardware site of the HPZ38c 38″ 3840 x 1600 desktop monitor. Toms tends to cover more consumer products, but the site was extremely impressed with the HP monitor and the curved high resolution format for business use (it doesn’t support variable frame rates and has quite a long input latency at 94ms, so is not considered good for gaming.
The site likes the quality of the panel and the uniformity and accuracy of the monitor.

Although curved monitors have largely been seen as attractive for gamers, there are those that don’t see them as important for business and who see dual monitors as a better solution for business users. They point to difficulties in adjusting the displays correctly and challenges with having enough tilt, etc. Others have pointed to issues of image quality, but the review shows that these are really not a problem. However, if you have space on the desk (and if you have dual screens you may already have that), this kind of display looks like an extremely good format for serious commercial users. (BR)
