Honor Brings 18:9 to the Entry Level

Huawei’s Honor sub-brand has released in the US the next in the Honor X smartphone series, the Honor 7X. The smartphone is an update to the Honor 6X and will sell at just $199.00.

The Honor 7X is the first smartphone to feature the new Honor FullView Display; a 5.93 inch FHD+ display with 2160 X 1080 resolution and 18:9 ratio. The phone provides the broadest viewing range and highest screen-to-body ratio in its price class, according to Huawei and is based on an IPS LCD with Gorilla Glass.

The processor is a Kirin 659 chipset and there is a 3,340 mAh battery. It has a dual-lens 16MP + 2MP rear-camera with DSLR depth of field effects achieved with a larger aperture (F/0.95 – F/16) and new Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) technology auto focuses in as little as 0.18 seconds. The 8MP front-camera has features to enhance selfies.

RAM support is 3 or 4GB with 32GB or 64GB of flash and a microSD card can be used to go up to 256 GB.
