What They Say
Hisense has a new high end laser UST projector which is rated at 3,000 ANSI lumens and is paired with a 100″ or 120″ ALR screen. There is also a 100″ ‘Daylight’ version of the screen. The projector supports HDR10 and HLG support as well as HDMI 2.1. It is claimed to support 107% of the Rec. 2020 colour space.
The 100″ is selling in the US for $5,500, while the 120″ is around $6K.
What We Think
The market is growing as we found out from PMA Research earlier this year. (Laser TV Market Changes Clarified) As we said in that article, getting the channels to put this kind of display in front of consumers is probably the biggest challenge for makers.
I’m not sure how you get to 107% of Rec. 2020. I guess you could move the primaries, or, could move the colour coordinates outside the range of human vision! (BR)
