What They Say
Yesterday I reported on the C|Net article that looked at Apple’s TV calibrator app. Just after publishing it, I spotted that HDTVTest’s Vincent Teoh had also looked at the system and compared it with his professional calibration tools and also used it to adjust the image on a Sony broadcast monitor. What We Think
Like C|NET, Teoh thought that the key thing to do is to make sure you select an accurate mode on the TV if you want a good image. He also showed that making the adjustment to colour tracking in the TV box can cause issues with posterisation as there is really enough resolution in the grey scales to make significant adjustments without distortion.
