Digitimes Research says that shipments of mobile handsets by Taiwan-based manufacturers reached 20.66 million during the second quarter of 2018, growing 16.1% compared to the first quarter. Among the ODMs, Foxconn came out on top, thanks to shipments of Nokia-branded handsets. Asustek, HTC, Arima Communications and Compal rounded out the top five.
Analysts predict that Taiwan’s handset shipments will be stronger in the second half of 2018 than in the first, as HDM Global continues to order supplies of Nokia handsets and Asustek sees growth in its own handset shipments.
