What They Say
Guangli has developed a second generation of AR swimming goggles. the Holoswim2, that feature a ‘holographic’ (so, of course, it’s not!) OLED display of 128 x 64 resolution. The goggles are available on Kickstarter with prices from $104 and shipments from October. The Kickstarter goal was small so has already been exceeded (and the promotional video probably cost more than the budget!)
The optical module is resin-based with 50% light transmittance and 25° FOV. They have an anti-scratch and anti-fog coating. The goggles will be able to track heart rate using a Polar HRM in a subsequent firmware upgrade.
What We Think
I’m no competitive swimmer but at this kind of price I would have thought such a device would be a ‘no-brainer’. (BR)
