The Greek telco market has been hit with a new tax, as part of an agreement between the country’s government and creditors. Local media report that the tax is 5% on each internet connection and 10% on every pay-TV subscription. The move is expected to lead to market distortions in double- and triple-play services, as operators charge higher fees for telephony and lower fees for for internet and pay-TV, in order to reduce their tax bill.
