GiantPlus of Taiwan has bought a 4G production line from its parent company, Chunghwa Picture Tube (CPT) to further develop its specialty display products sales. The capacity of the fab is 60K 680 x 880mm sheets per month.
Separately, CPT has been reported by the China Post to have suspended production in another 4.5G plant in the Longtan District of Taoyuan City, from the middle of November. This reflects weak demand for smartphone panels. A second 4.5G line in Taoyuan will continue.
