DTVEurope reported data from the Deutsche TV Plattform that 2.7 million televisions were sold in Germany by the end of July 2022. Smart TVs sales made up 96% of the total (2.5 million), up two percentage points on the previous year.
- 75% of sets were UltraHD (2 million) and 99% of those had some kind of HDR feature.
- 83% of the HDR sets had dynamic HDR (HDR10+ or Dolby Vision) – up from 80% in 2021.
- 55% of set sales were at 50% and above and 20% are at 65″ or larger

Europeans in general prefer smaller sets but the trend to bigger sets seems likely to continue. (BR)
